Our Philosophy
According to Dorland’s Medical Dictionary, the definition of HEALTH is “a state of optimal physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” Our goal at Jaffrey Chiropractic is to get people to that state as quickly as possible.
Sometimes, chiropractic care can take a little longer to relieve pain because our aim and intention is to treat the cause of the pain rather than just eliminate your symptoms. The underlying cause in many cases is the vertebral subluxation complex and it will be the primary focus of our treatment. A subluxation is what occurs when spinal bones have lost their normal motion or position as a result of stress, trauma or other imbalances. Your body has an innate ability to restore its health, as long as the nervous system is functioning effectively. At times, the body becomes unable to adapt to life’s stressful moments. As a result your body can become restricted in its motion and the spine becomes misaligned, which in turn can cause an irritation of a spinal nerve. This misalignment and irritation is called a subluxation.
Chiropractic seeks to correct subluxations, restoring this vital brain-body exchange and thus allowing the body to regain its optimal functioning and vitality. Proper spinal health is a new concept for many people, so we are here to answer any questions you may have.

Chiropractic and Pregnancy
Chiropractic care during pregnancy is a great drug-free way to stay healthy, help the body adjust to the ever changing postures as pregnancy progresses, and help ensure a healthy labor and delivery.
Chiropractic Adjustments:
- Help ensure that pelvic bones are properly aligned, possibly facilitating a quicker, easier delivery.
- Re-establish the natural position and mobility of the joints.
- Provide freedom from interference of normal nerve energy which is not only important for the mother, but vital for the development of a healthy baby.
Dr. Josh has close to 30 years of experience in adjusting pregnant women, and has even adjusted women while they were in early and active labor. The type of adjusting table used in our office is extremely comfortable as it is adjustable for the growing belly. Children and Chiropractic
Many people are surprised when they hear of chiropractic for infants and children. “Babies have back pain,” they ask? However, chiropractic isn’t just about back pain. In fact, it wasn’t originally intended to treat back pain at all. Chiropractic is about making sure the body is functioning at its best. It is very important to have your little one’s spine checked for nerve interference, caused by vertebral subluxations. This nerve interference can cause many problems — ones that may not show up for several years. Subluxations do not necessarily cause symptoms in a young child, but if your baby suffers from colic, constipation, or has had a traumatic birth, they should receive a chiropractic examination. Chiropractic checkups are easy, painless, and very affordable.
With his experience in treating newborns, toddlers, tweens and teens, Dr. Josh understands the unique needs of each age group. Many of the children that have come to our office have become life-long wellness patients who understand the relationship between spinal health and staying well, and many are even bringing their own children in for their adjustments.
